Guthrie Public Schools will host a memorial service to honor the life and legacy of longtime educator Charlotte Mitchell. The service will take place on Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Guthrie High School Gymnasium.
Ms. Mitchell’s impact on the district spanned over three decades, beginning in 1987 at Langston Elementary School before she joined Guthrie Public Schools in 1993. She spent the majority of her career teaching 5th and 6th-grade students at Guthrie Upper Elementary School, most recently as a 6th-grade Social Studies teacher.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Friendship Baptist Church, located at 521 S. Ash St. in Guthrie. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
The community is invited to attend the memorial service as Guthrie Public Schools pays tribute to a devoted educator who left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.
