The Guthrie Lady Jays softball team is gearing up to host regional play this week as they aim to secure a spot in next week’s state tournament.

The regional tournament will take place at the Guthrie High School field, located behind Guthrie Upper Elementary School, starting Wednesday and concluding on Thursday.

Fans are reminded that all tickets must be purchased online via Go Fan.

Guthrie will face competition from both El Reno and Lawton MacArthur in the three-team regional. The action kicks off on Wednesday at noon, with El Reno and MacArthur squaring off. The winner will advance to play Guthrie at 2 p.m.

Thursday’s schedule includes games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with an “if necessary” game set for 5 p.m.

The Lady Jays enter regional play with an impressive 23-9 record and a 5A-1 district title.

El Reno finished the regular season with a 13-12 record, while MacArthur went 14-20.

Notably, El Reno snapped Guthrie’s 16-game winning streak on September 12 with an 8-7 victory. However, the Lady Indians have struggled recently, dropping seven of their last 10 games. On the other hand, MacArthur has gained momentum, winning seven of their last 10.
