Each year, Guthrie High School dedicates a week to raising money that will benefit the school or community; otherwise known as United Week.
The 2013 “Inspire a Generation” United Week will be held March 7 through March 14. This year the GHS Student Council (STUCO) is raising money for their “Extra Special Jays”. Their goal is provide them with an outdoor classroom area. The fundraising goal set is $7,000. Last year they set a goal of $5,000 and raised $11,000.
The student organization is challenging the community to take party by asking businesses to donate towards the cause. They are asking 10% of earnings one evening, donate toiletries items or building supplies, give a simple monetary donation of any amount. In addition, students will be willing to come to a business on donation evenings for a donation.
For more information call the high school at (405) 282-5906.
