A Guthrie teenager stopped by the Guthrie Police Department recently and delivered her birthday money for the department’s Christmas charity.
Nova Crist, 15, brought in a cash donation for the Guthrie Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105 Christmas with Cops program that she collected from her birthday party. The program helps children to have a merrier Christmas with gifts and presents.
Nova decided she didn’t “really need anything this year” and asked everyone attending her party to bring cash, instead of a gift. She said it can go to someone who really needed it.
She collected over $160 and handed over the cash to Officer Shannon Peel inside the police department.
“We are humbled by your amazing spirit and generosity Nova, and thank you immensely,” Sgt. Jeremy Thorne said.
On Sunday evening, officers helped 64 children with Christmas presents and gifts inside Wal Mart.
Exactly the way Nova wanted it to happen.
Below is the video of the Christmas With Cops from Sunday evening.
