As summer draws to a close, the City of Guthrie has announced that the splash pads at Mineral Wells Park and Banner Park will officially close for the season on September 3rd, 2024. Families have until Labor Day weekend to enjoy the water features before they are shut down for maintenance and winterization.

The splash pads have been popular spots for locals looking to beat the heat, providing a fun and safe environment for children and families throughout the summer months. With the closure, the city is urging residents to take advantage of the final day of the season.

City officials expressed their gratitude to the community for making the splash pads a success this summer and look forward to reopening them next year. For those looking for other recreational options as the weather cools, Guthrie’s parks and trails remain open year-round.

The splash pads are expected to reopen in late spring of 2025, weather permitting.
