Guthrie uses big fifth inning to beat Norman, 11-2

Guthrie Baseball took down Norman 11-2 on Saturday at Choctaw after slamming Norman with seven runs in the fifth inning.

Guthrie Baseball LogoJacob Chappell racked up four RBIs on two hits for Bluejays. He tripled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Blaze Hastings got the win for Bluejays. He pitched two shutout innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Bluejays stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Donovan Jordan and a two-run home run byReed Roberts.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, Norman faced just a 3-1 deficit. A solo home run by Paul Reed sparked Norman’s rally. Camden Wilcott ended the inning by getting Dax Marley to.

Bluejays survived Norman’s surge and put up one run of its own in the fourth. Bluejays scored on an RBI triple by Jacob.
