A Guthrie woman is in jail after she allegedly went to her car and retrieved a gun and fired the weapon into a crowd outside a Midwest City club.
Wendy Brock Whisman, 40, was arrested on complaints of shooting with intent to kill. Her friend, Johnny Ray Hudson, also was arrested on a complaint of public intoxication.
Officers were called out to the DaBomb bar at 6301 SE 29 about 2 a.m. Sunday and found several patrons in the parking lot and a man and woman injured after an argument broke out over a game of pool.
According to the police report, Whisman then grabbed a .38 caliber handgun from her car and fired several shots into the crowd.
Police say 36-year-old Kathy Wigington, who was shot in the neck, was transported to OU Medical Center where she is listed as stable and 27-year-old Gregory Martin was shot in the lower left leg and was taken to Midwest Regional Medical Center.
Authorities said after the shooting happened, several people beat Whisman to the ground until police arrived on the scene. She suffered facial injuries, including a broken nose.
Witnesses told police everyone was inside the bar when a dispute erupted over a pool game between Whisman and another woman. They said Whisman then went out into the parking lot with a male companion. At that time, Hudson got into a fight with another man, and that is Whisman grabbed the handgun from her car.
Whisman was booked into the Midwest City police department jail after she was treated for her injuries. Police say she will be charged with two felony counts of shooting with intent to kill and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
