Guthrie’s Evan Plagg ranked in top five of college offensive linemen

After seven weeks of college football, one publication has Evan Plagg has one of the top five offensive lineman in the nation, according to their positional rankings.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) is a website that focuses on thorough analysis of the National Football League and NCAA Division-I football. They watch game film and give grades for each position throughout the season. Each position is graded on a 0-100 scale.

Plagg, who anchors the offensive line for Tulsa University, scored an 88.2.

Washington State’s Cole Madison ranks at the top of the list with an 91.1.

Plagg, who was sidelined this past weekend in the game against Connecticut, is among 81 players on the watch list for the 2017 Outland Trophy, presented to the nation’s top interior lineman by the Football Writers Association of America.

The senior, who was a former walk-on until 2015 for the Golden Hurricane, is a 2013 Guthrie High School graduate where he was a three-year letterman for the Bluejays.

Evan is the son of Ron and Juanita Plagg.
