Guthrie High School senior Kolten Carlock has been selected to the prestigious Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State football team, capping off a remarkable season and high school career.

Carlock, who returned to his hometown for his senior year, played a pivotal role in leading the Bluejays to the Class 5A state championship game in December. A versatile athlete and team captain, he earned District 5A-2 Offensive Player of the Year honors and was named a 5A West All-Star.

The standout senior will play defensive back in the All-State game, but his contributions throughout the 2023 season showcased his incredible versatility. In addition to quarterback, Carlock also played running back, wide receiver, punter, and return man.

Statistically, Carlock finished with 267 passing yards, more than 1,500 rushing yards, and over 100 receiving yards, totaling 19 touchdowns. On the defensive side, he recorded 33 tackles, forced and recovered a fumble, blocked a field goal, and snagged two interceptions.

Carlock has signed to continue his football career at East Central University in Ada, where he is expected to contribute in the secondary.

The game time and location for the All-State game have not been formally announced at this time.

His selection to the All-State team adds another chapter to the rich football tradition in Guthrie.
