Bluejays refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Shawnee, recording an 11-2 victory on Friday at Tecumseh.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed Bluejays to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Blaze Hastings, a groundout by Grant Towler, and an RBI single by Camden Wilcott in the first inning and an RBI double by Rowdy Reihs during the second inning helped Bluejays put some runs on the board early.

Grant was solid at the plate for Bluejays. Grant went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs.

Bluejays got the win thanks in large part to Blaze’s dominant, six-strikeout performance. Blaze allowed no earned runs, seven hits and one walk over six innings.

Aj Barron was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Bluejays added four more runs in the top of the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when Blaze singled, scoring Rowdy and Reed Roberts.
