Guthrie’s Special Jays prepare for Special Olympics with spirited track meet

In anticipation of the upcoming Special Olympic games in Stillwater, Guthrie’s Special Jays seized the opportunity on Tuesday to showcase their athletic prowess in a spirited track meet at the Clay Tarter Complex.

Amidst perfect weather conditions, the athletes enthusiastically participated in various events, showcasing their talent and determination. The track meet served as a platform for the Special Jays to fine-tune their skills and garner support from fellow students, teachers, family members, and friends who cheered them on every step of the way.

As the Special Jays gear up for their journey to Stillwater, a heartwarming send-off is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 15, starting at 8:30 a.m. The community is invited to join in bidding farewell to these remarkable athletes as they embark on their trip from the high school parking lot.
