The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors formally announced their new CEO/President on Tuesday morning.
Gregory “Heady” Coleman was named to the position following the resignation of Mary Coffin this past April. Coffin served the Chamber for eight years.
“Heady says he is a believer in the community of Guthrie and loves promoting it every chance he gets. His heart is working with people ,combined with his commitment to empower their effectiveness,” board member Evelyn Nephew said in an email.
Coleman is the owner of Guthrie America LLC, whose mission is creating opportunities and environments for people to learn, be inspired and connect with others to improve their life/work.
Coleman says he will use his leadership skills, talent and experience to grow memberships for the Chamber, in support of its mission which is a voluntary partnership of individuals working together to promote economic progress.
“He does this using the “Go Win Approach” a program he developed working with couples to sort out their lives. He also use this program with small businesses, as it relates to areas of business and organizational development,” Nephew said.
Coleman recently earned the title of “Cool Dad” published in the Metro Family magazine. Coleman and his wife, Bernadette, are both graduates of Guthrie High School and have three children, Kenneth 17, Zale 10 and Nia 8.
