With a wind advisory in effect for a majority of the state, the winds have made an impact in Guthrie on Thursday morning.
Just after 9:30 a.m. an electrical transformer blew after a reporting party believed two power lines touched each other due to the high winds.
The sparks from the transformer caused a small grass fire down below that extinguished itself out. The Guthrie Fire Department responded and cleared the area.
However, as of 10 a.m., 172 OG&E customers were without power with majority of those being businesses on south Division.
Earlier in the morning, the high winds cause tree branches to break off and unfortunately one vehicle was parked in the wrong spot at the wrong time.
The large limbs came crashing down on top of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of S. Oak. The tree left major damage with the roof of the car caved in and windshield busted.
The high winds, with gusts as high as 50 mph and sustained at 35 mph, are expected to be around until mid afternoon.
