A driver lost control of his 10-wheeler truck late Friday morning on Highway 105 after it is believed the front tire blew out on the vehicle causing it to roll and eject the driver.
The driver, whose name and age was not released at the scene, was air-lifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was later treated and release the same day.
A witness, who is a registered nurse and whom helped the victim until rescue crews arrived on the scene, says the driver lost steering capabilities and swerved to the left as the truck was traveling east bound on the highway near Pottawatomie Road.
The nurse went on to say the truck then hit a culvert causing the truck to roll and ejecting the driver. The victim was able to walk a short distance before falling down.
The Bobtail tanker belongs to RDT Trucking of Crescent.
The Guthrie Fire Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the accident.
Guthrie News Page will have more when OHP releases their official findings.
