The new year is not off to a happy start for some Guthrie homeowners as vandals left their mark on the east side of town early Sunday morning.
Residents woke up to their homes, garages and fences vandalized with spray paint. One vehicle also had a window broken out.
The vandalism was found throughout the 800 block of N. Broad to E. Washington to E. Logan.
“We work hard to keep our property nice,” one of the affected residents said. “It’s frustrating when irresponsible delinquents choose to tear things up like they did.”
Sgt. Jeremy Thorne with the Guthrie Police Department tells Guthrie News Page at least 10 homes and one vehicle were hit. However, there could be more found as they continue to investigate.
There have been no arrests made at this time, but Thorne says they are continuing to collect information and are hopeful someone will come forward with details.
If caught, the vandals could face severe charges, including malicious injury to property and burglary (for the vehicle).
If you have any information you’re encouraged to call the Guthrie Police Department at 405-282-3535.
