Just days before a house was to be demolished, the structure caught fire for the second time in just over five months.
The Guthrie Fire Department responded to the structure fire at 602 E. Springer on Monday evening. The same call the department took on March 1, 2019.
Firefighters and members of the Guthrie Police Department were called to the home just after 6 p.m. As they arrived, the home was fully-involved with heavy flames.
The flames could be seen over two miles away.

The fire crew, along with the Sooner Volunteer Fire Department, needed several minutes to get the flames under control.
Firefighters remained on the scene and are unable to determine what may have caused the fire at the scene at the current time.
The home was set to be taken down by a wrecking company as early as this week. It’s unknown if the scheduled demolition will continue.
The homeowner told Guthrie News Page he was glad it was his home again and not someone else’s home where they are currently living in.
In March, the home was destroyed by flames and afterwards a body was found inside. Related article: One person found dead inside house fire
