A Logan County home went up in flames on Wednesday afternoon and quickly spread to a grass fire in the southern part of the county.
Fire departments responded to a home located at 12001 E. Charter Oak Road. Once firefighters arrived it was completely taken over by the flames. With the winds gusting from the north, the fire quickly turned into a large grass fire.
The home is being described as a total loss.
No one was inside the home when the fire broke out.
A total of 80 acres were burned up and was started by a controlled burn from the previous day.
Fire departments from Woodcrest, Guthrie, Sooner, Coyle, Meridian, Oak Cliff and Edmond helped eliminate the flames on the chilly afternoon.
There were no injuries reported at the scene.
