Howells and Mathena take second in their tournament

The Guthrie Lady Jays hosted the Guthrie BancFirst Tennis Tournament at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center and finished with numerous top 10 finishes.

#1 Singles Cheyenne Royal placed 6th

She lost to Edmond Santa Fe in the first round 6-1, 6-0
In the second round she defeated Midwest City 6-0, 6-1
In the consolation round she lost to Seminole in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 9-11

#2 Singles Heidi Kuruvilla placed 4th

She won her first round against Midwest City in three sets 3-6, 6-0, 10-8
In the second round she lost to Ardmore 6-1, 6-1
In the match for 3rd she lost to Shawnee 6-3, 6-0

#1 Doubles  Sarah Howells and Carissa Mathena placed 2nd

They won their 1st round against Anadarko 7-6, 4-6, 10-4
In the next round they defeated Seminole 6-1, 6-3

In the match for 1st they lost to Ardmore who they had already defeated twice, so they were disappointed the score was 6-3, 6-4

#2 Doubles Ryan Robbins and Kaityln Walls placed 3rd

In the first round they defeated Anadarko 5-7, 6-0, 11-9
In the next round they lost to Edmond North 7-6, 6-1
In the match for third they beat Edmond Santa Fe 6-1, 6-3

#1 Singles Andy Hartley placed 6th

In the first round he lost to Anadarko 6-4, 6-0
In the second round he defeated Midwest City 6-0, 6-3
In the consolation round he lost to Edmond North 6-2, 6-1

#2 Singles Conner Johnson placed 6th

In the first round he lost to Anadarko 6-0, 6-3
In the second round he beat Shawnee 6-0, 6-3
In the last round he lost to Edmond North 6-3, 6-0

#1 Doubles  Dalton Jones and Seth Vicchio placed 6th

In the first round they lost to Anadarko 6-2, 7-5
In the next round they defeated Shawnee 6-1, 6-0
In the consolation round they lost to Seminole 6-3, 6-3

#2 Doubles Brayden Berryman and Kirk Wilkes placed 8th

In the first round they lost to Edmond North 6-1, 6-0
In the second round they lost to Anadarko 6-1, 6-0
In the last round they lost to Midwest City in three sets 7-5, 3-6, 8-10
