HS Band and Choir receive honors at Disney; fireworks on sale

The Guthrie High School Band and Choir traveled to Orlando Florida to participate in the Festival Disney competition on May 28 through June 4. Both groups received Superior ratings.
Band UniformsThe choir also won a bronze Mickey and the band won a good Mickey.
“We traveled with 100 students and 20 adults and had a great time,” band director Rob Blackburn said. “Thank you to the school board, administration and community for your continued support.”
In addition, the High School Band will be selling fireworks in the Wal-Mart parking lot beginning on June 21 through July 4.
“Please come out and support the band,” Blackburn added.
$10 coupons will be available in the Sunday Oklahoman newspaper (TNT Fireworks) and people can can go to www.tntfireworks.com/coupons to fill out and print off a coupon at the stand that is good for $10.

    That would be the “Gold Mickey” that the Band was awarded…. Not the ‘good’ Mickey.
