OKLAHOMA CITY – People in the Guthrie area can get their earthquake insurance questions answered by an expert at a free event. The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) is hosting the free meeting on May 23.
“It’s very important that Oklahomans understand what they are getting when they purchase earthquake insurance,” Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak said. “This type of coverage is for major or catastrophic damage. We hope to clarify any issues or questions people have with this event.”
People who attend will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with an OID representative. One-on-one conversations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not required. Consumers are encouraged to bring their earthquake insurance policy if they have specific questions about their coverage.
The event will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, May 23 at Guthrie City Hall, Council Chambers. For more information about earthquake insurance, including the nine most frequently asked questions, visit oid.ok.gov.
