Update: Man wanted in multiple burglaries now in custody

Update at 2:30 p.m. July 21, 2015 – Deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday they located and have taken Hezekiah Privett into custody after three weeks on the run.

Investigators say they received a tip that Privett was inside a home in Guthrie. After receiving permission to enter the home, Privett was found hiding under items inside a bedroom closet. He was taken into custody without any incident.

Original story: The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 21-year-old male in questioning of both multiple vehicle thefts and second degree burglaries. A warrant has now been issued for his arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office is searching for Hezekiah Leon Privett and his possible connection to the incidents, which took place in the early morning hours on July 2 near the intersection of Roller Coaster and Midwest Blvd.

According to investigators, Privett stole a Chrysler PT Cruiser and was involved in a traffic collision. He rolled the vehicle approximately four times and walked away from the scene.  Afterwards, he is believed to have walked a mile from the residence and burglarized several vehicles while doing so. In the burglaries, he is alleged to have stolen several wallets among other items and then stole a Lexus vehicle because the owner’s keys were left in the vehicle.

In addition, investigators says charges are being filed in an investigation into multiple accessories who have helped or harbored Hezekiah as he “eludes law enforcement.”

The Sheriff’s Office is hoping social media can help locate Privett. Since posting too their Facebook page on July 10, the post has been shared over 250 times. Family and friends have pleaded for Privett to turn himself in with posts on the social media site.

On Tuesday morning, a warrant was issued for Privett’s arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with any information to call their office at (405) 282-4100.
