Jack stands larceny charge dismissed against assistant district attorney

The first assistant district attorney for Logan and Payne County, who was accused of taking $30 jack stands from his ex-wife’s house, no longer faces the felony larceny charge.

The charge was dismissed by an Oklahoma County judge Tuesday morning against Kevin Etherington.

In March, prosecutors alleged Etherington, 47, took a pair of jacks on Jan. 4 from his ex-wife’s Edmond home after entering without permission after dropping off their 9-year-old daughter. Related articleLogan County first assistant DA charged with felony

Etherington’s ex-wife, Aaron Etherington, is currently an Oklahoma County assistant district attorney. Etherington is a former Oklahoma County assistant district attorney.

After the March arrest, Etherington in a statement said the truth would prevail in the case.

“Once the truth comes out it will be obvious that a civil issue was transformed into a felony charge.”

The Etherington’s divorce was finalized in July 2016.
