Guthrie jumped out to an early lead on Guymon and captured a 16-0 victory on Thursday at Squires Field.
Fifteen runs in the first three innings allowed Bluejays to put the game away early. With the two wins, Guthrie improves to 4-0 in district play.
An RBI single by Rowdy Reihs during the first inning and an RBI single by Camden Wilcott, a two-run single by Reed Roberts, a sacrifice fly by Grant Towler, and an RBI single by Zane Maltz in the second inning supplied the early offense for Bluejays.
Roberts racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Bluejays.
Guymon couldn’t get anything going as long as Reihs was on the hill. Guymon managed just one hit off of Reihs, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.
Game Two
Guthrie (5-1) jumped out to an early lead on Guymon and captured a 14-0 victory.
Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Bluejays to put the game away early.
An RBI single by TC Bolding in the second inning helped Guthrie put some runs on the board early.
Blaze Hastings racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Jays. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and drilled a grand slam in the fifth inning.
Bluejays’ Camden Wilcott kept Guymon off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six.
Guthrie pounded Guymon pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored.
After posting six runs in the third, Bluejays again scored six in the fifth. In the third, Bluejays scored on an RBI double by Reed Roberts, plating Wilcott.
