In a shift for Guthrie Public Schools, Jeff Ball, a long-time and highly respected educator, has announced his resignation. Ball, has been with the district for 29 years, marking the end of a remarkable tenure that has touched many lives in the community.
Ball’s journey with Guthrie Public Schools began as a classroom teacher and coach. His dedication and leadership skills soon led him to administration, where he served as assistant principal at Guthrie Upper Elementary School. He later became the first-ever principal at Charter Oak Elementary School, a role he held for five years before returning to Guthrie Upper Elementary School as principal for the past year.
Throughout his career, Ball earned the admiration and respect of teachers, staff, and students. His commitment to education and the well-being of his students was evident in every aspect of his work.
“We wish Jeff nothing but the best as his career turns the page to a new chapter. His 29 years of service to this district and our community have made a positive impact on countless lives,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson. Simpson’s words reflect the sentiment of many who have worked with Ball over the years.
The Guthrie Board of Education is expected to name Ball’s successor at their meeting on June 10.
