Guthrie Public School’s Assistant Superintendent Doug Ogle was presented with a check for $6,410 during a special ceremony at John Vance Country Ford on Tuesday.
“We are very pleased to provide this type of program for our local schools,” said Megan Vance, Vice President of John Vance Auto Group. “We know that schools need money for all kinds of educational purposes, and feel the Ford Drive 4 UR Schools program is one of the best for doing this.”
Teachers, parents and others Guthrie residents participated in a John Vance/Ford test-drive event last August that helped them earn up to $8,000 in grant fulfillment and needed equipment, programs, and supplies for classrooms.
To date, Ford Dealerships like John Vance Country Ford have helped raise more than $35 million for local schools and nonprofits, thanks to their hard work and the Drive 4 UR School and Drive 4 UR Community programs. The money raised during the Drive 4 UR School program has helped ensure that educational programs and extracurricular activities like sports and music programs continue in local communities despite budgetary constraints.
