Jon Chappell named Administrator of the Year by OASA

Oklahoma City – The Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA) announces twenty assistant superintendents/central office administrators from across the state have been selected as the 2017 OASA District Assistant Superintendent/Central Office Administrators of the Year for their districts.

These administrators will be recognized at the OASA awards banquet on Wednesday, June 7 at the annual Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) Summer Conference.  They will be honored by colleagues, along with the District Superintendent finalists who were also announced this month.  The conference will be held June 7-8 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Norman.

“Congratulations to these administrators for their valuable contributions to education in Oklahoma,” Dr. Pam Deering, Executive Director of CCOSA/OASA stated.  “These men and women play an important role on the administrative team in their school districts.  We commend them for serving both their schools and communities,” Deering added.

The 2017 OASA District Assistant Superintendent/Central Office Administrators of the Year are:

·  District #1 — Dixie Purdy, Assistant Superintendent, Guymon Public Schools

·  District #2 — Susan Viles, District Test/RSA Coordinator, Woodward Public Schools

·  District #3 — Jon Chappell, Athletic Director, Guthrie Public Schools

·  District #4 — Janice Finton, Principal, Shidler Public Schools

·  District #5 — Cody Way, Chief Financial Officer, Jenks Public Schools

·  District #6 — Rusty Rankin, Assistant Superintendent, Vinita Public Schools

·  District #7 — Chris Reynolds, Director, Mid-Del Schools

·  District #8 — Krista Burden, Director of Instruction, Bristow Public Schools

·  District #9 — Jennifer Stegman, Executive Director of Academic Services and Technology, Shawnee Public Schools

·  District #10 — Max Myers, Assistant Superintendent, Coweta Public Schools

·  District #11 — Diane Tillery, Curriculum Director, Sallisaw Public Schools

·  District #12 — Tyler Bridges, Assistant Superintendent, Clinton Public Schools

·  District #13 — Corey Holland, Director, Cache Public Schools

·  District #14 — Dr. Jason Brunk, Assistant Superintendent, Yukon Public Schools

·  District #15 — Channa Byerly, Chief Financial Officer, Duncan Public Schools

·  District #16 — Gayle Castle, Director, Blanchard Public Schools

·  District #17 — Kevin Wilson, Assistant Superintendent, Byng Public Schools

·  District #18 — Russell Thornton, Assistant superintendent, Spiro Public Schools

·  District #19 — Keith Milligan, Assistant Superintendent, Clayton Public Schools

·  District #20 — Jodie Dunn, Director, Kiamichi Technology Center – Atoka

These twenty administrators are eligible for the state title of 2017 Oklahoma Assistant Superintendent/Central Office Administrator of the Year. The state winner will be announced at the CCOSA Summer Conference during the morning general session on June 7. The Oklahoma Association of School Administrators is under the umbrella of the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration. CCOSA is an incorporated, non-profit organization serving over 2800 superintendents, assistant superintendents, central office administrators, principals, special education directors and central office administrators.
