Kentrell Brothers made history on Monday Night Football in Chicago.
The 23-year-old rookie linebacker suited up for the first time this season in a Minnesota Vikings uniform and became the first player in Guthrie history to play in a National Football League (NFL) regular season game.
Brothers, who wears jersey No. 40, collected a tackle in the second quarter on a special teams play.
Despite being on the 53-man roster, Brothers was inactive for the first six games of the season.
However, making a tackle on Monday Night Football is a good time as any to earn a spot despite a 20-10 loss.
The Vikings (5-2) are stacked on defense, particularly at linebacker, and the numbers prove it. After eight weeks on the field, Minnesota has the league’s top-ranked defense.
The Vikings play host to Detroit on Sunday.
