The annual Kiwanis Christmas TV Auction is set for December 13 as the event helps the civic group help build a better Guthrie through several of their local programs.

kiwanisauctionflyerThe event, once again, will be held inside Guthrie’s City Hall, located at 101 N. 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Kiwanis encourages for everyone to attend in person, but the auction can be viewed on City of Guthrie’s City Vision (Cox cable) Channel 20. Viewers will be able to call in their bid in as volunteers will be answering the phone bank of calls.

Several items will be up for bid, including household items, gift certificates, bicycles, toys, a riding mower and much more.

Highlighting the items this year will be two sets of lower level Thunder tickets for their Dec. 21 game with the New Orleans Pelicans. Each set comes in at a value of $388.

Another big-ticket item ($350) will be a University of Oklahoma autograph football by three Heisman trophy winners (Steve Owens, Billy Sims and Jason White).

A XBOX 1 game system ($500) will be up for bid as will $250 teeth whitening kits.

Throughout the year, Kiwanis helps children with several programs, including Coats for Kids, Bring Up Grades (BUG) Scholarships, Sophomore of the Year, Easter Egg Hunt, Punt, Pass and Kick, Special Services, School Supplies and United Way.
