Lady Jays place sixth at Lawton tournament; Brown, Reyes sign college letters

The Guthrie High School Lady Jays golf team competed Monday at Lawton Country Club, finishing sixth overall against a competitive field.

Guthrie posted a team score of 381. Duncan took first place with a 341, followed by McGuinness (350), Carl Albert (360), Blanchard (370), and Lawton MacArthur (378).

Senior Tatum Brown led the Lady Jays with a sixth-place finish, carding an 82. Sophomore Mallory Lemon finished 16th with a 93, while senior Taegan Reyes placed 34th with a score of 100.

Senior Maely Beeby finished 48th with a 107, and freshman Olivia Riley placed 47th with a 106.

The strong senior leadership has been a key storyline for Guthrie this season. Brown has already signed to continue her golf career at Murray State College, while Reyes recently signed with Cottey College.
