After dropping their first round game of the Chickasha Tournament, Guthrie girls basketball team responded with a win on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Jays picked up their second win on the season with a 45-24 win over John Marshall to put them in the Consolation finals against conference foe Western Heights on Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
Chickasha held the Lady Jays to just 29 points in a 42-29 opening round game, but Guthrie responded with more offense on day two by scoring double digits in each of the four quarters.
Guthrie jumped out to a 12-1 first quarter lead and until onto the lead at the half, 22-9.
Junior Melinda Murillo continues to lead the team in the scoring department with 17 points on Friday and 18 on Thursday. Gracynn Smith landed in double figures with 10 against John Marshall.
