The iconic Lazy E Arena is getting a major upgrade. The historic venue, known across the country for its Western sports legacy, has broken ground on an ambitious infrastructure expansion set to transform it into a premier multi-event destination.
Central to the expansion is a brand-new, 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art event center designed to host concerts, trade shows, corporate gatherings, and community events. Construction is already underway and is expected to be fully completed by June 2026.
“We’re not just expanding our footprint—we’re redefining what’s possible for events in this industry and delivering a world-class experience to the western community,” said Dan Wall, General Manager of Lazy E Arena. “This expansion marks an exciting new chapter, made possible through the support of the McKinney Family.”
The project includes a new covered arena, upgraded restrooms, laundry, and shower facilities, plus two new barns with 266 permanent Priefert stalls. An additional 160 stalls are under construction and expected to be ready by November 2025. Event promoters will also benefit from dedicated office spaces designed to support their operations during shows and productions.
For decades, the Lazy E Arena has stood as a landmark in Western sports—hosting the prestigious Cinch Timed Event Championship of the World and helping launch the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). With more than 35 events held annually, the arena’s latest investment reaffirms its mission to remain the world’s premier Western entertainment facility.
