LCSO to partner with group to conduct alcohol compliance checks

In an effort to reduce underage drinking, The Logan County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) will be partnering with PreventionWorkz to conduct alcohol compliance checks in the upcoming weeks.

In order to assist alcohol retailers in avoiding citations, expensive fines and possible loss of their license to sell alcohol and/or low-point beer, LCSO, and PreventionWorkz are partnering to provide Responsible Beverage Service and Sales (RBSS) Training to all alcohol retailers.

RBSS Training is provided free of charge. It focuses on the laws concerning alcohol service and sales, the effects of alcohol, the proper procedure for checking identification, how to recognize fake IDs and the development of strong alcohol policies. Despite this training, there’s no ignoring the fact that fake IDs are getting more and more difficult to recognize. These days, it’s almost impossible to identify the difference between fake and real ID, with fake ones even becoming scannable. Teenagers are purchasing this North Carolina Fake ID and finding it easy to buy alcohol and get into clubs. However, this does not mean it’s completely hopeless in identifying fake ID…with this training, it should get easier for shop owners.

Last July, 24 restaurants, bars and gas stations throughout Logan County that sell or serve alcohol, four sold to underage buyers for law enforcement.
