The Guthrie Public Library is proud to present Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma!
Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma! is a book discussion series made possible by a generous grant provided by the Oklahoma Humanities Council. This series begins in August and will run through December.
We will read a new book each month, then meet for an engaging discussion lead by an esteemed scholar from the area. Our theme this Fall is Journey Stories and features a series of five books all related to the theme of journeys, travel, and exploration.
Discussions will be held on Monday evenings from 6 – 8 pm: On the Road by Jack Kerouac on August 27; Odyssey by Homer on September 24; Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck on 22 October; Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig on November 26; Life of Pi by Yann Martel on December 17.
Refreshments will be served on discussion nights. Guthrie Public Library has plenty of copies of each book- simply stop by the Library to register and pick up your copy today! Please call 282-0050 or go to www.guthrielibrary.com to learn more.
