Guthrie Noon Lions Club continues its tradition of honoring outstanding senior class member of Guthrie High School. This month the club is proud to recognize Jesse Mathews and Kacie Carey for their outstanding academic achievements as well as their leadership and participation in other aspects of their school and community.
Jesse Mathews, son of Kerri and Jeff Mathews, is an outstanding member of the Guthrie High School football team where he excels as the tight end and fullback. Jesse is a member of the student council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has been recognized for Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA) and is a member of the National Honor Society. Jesse plans on attending Oklahoma State University next fall with a focus on Political Science.
Kacie Carey is the daughter of Staci and James Carey. She is the student body president and a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Kacie is on the soccer and cross country track teams and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a national Honor Society member and has achieved Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA) recognition. Kacie is headed to Oklahoma State University next year to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education and has a passion to ultimately teach second grade.
