The Guthrie Noon Lions Club donated $500 to the Guthrie YMCA program recently.
Lions Club President, Steve Gentling, noted, “The Lions Club is dedicated to “service” and we are consistently impressed that the Guthrie YMCA has that same focus and has achieved significant outcomes. We are pleased to again provide a donation to keep their programs going and provide opportunities for those who may not otherwise have been able to participate.”

Kristin Hersom, director of the local Y reflected on the donation, “We have a number of needs: expanding programs, financial assistance for memberships and programs; scholarships for youth programs and our new second floor “teen center”. This contribution will certainly help us move closer to our financial goal and meet those needs.”
Gentling added, “The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at Stacy’s Place on Harrison Ave. Each week, in addition to a wonderful meal and meaningful fellowship, a special guest presentation is made, generally focusing on a program, process or activity that directly affects our community and our lives.”
Membership Chair, Richard Ireton, added “Lions are women and men who want to make a positive impact on their community. Membership is open to all who want to make a difference, to all who want “to serve”. Join us and help make that happen!”
