Members of the Guthrie Lions club are enthusiastically engaged in the annual Cowboy Cadillac fundraiser. The funds raised through these efforts will help support Lions’ Oklahoma state-wide projects such as the Lions Boys Ranch and the Lions Eye Bank.
Tickets are available from all Guthrie Lions members at $1 each or 12 for $10. The focus of the ticket sales is the first place prize, a 2014 Ford F-150 or $15,000 in cash. A second and third prize is a cruise for two and a large flat screen television respectively.
Guthrie Lion club member, Patti Chamberlain noted, “The money raised during this drive will support important state projects like the Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch in Perkins which serves boys who have been in and out of foster homes and state facilities. The nurturing environment at the ranch and the commitment of loving house parents has resulted in numerous success stories for these young men. Another project is the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank which facilitates corneal transplants. Since its establishment over 24,000 Oklahoma corneas have been donated, resulting in over 20,000 cornea transplant surgeries. Enhancing eye sight to many is a wonderful outcome. These and other programs make a difference in our state, a difference that makes all Lions very proud.”
If you don’t know a Lion Club member, you may also contact Patti Chamberlain (282-5268) or Cheryl Tarter, Guthrie Lions Club President, for tickets or more information about the Lions Club. Please help the Lions Clubs continue to make a difference in our state.
