Update at 9 a.m. on April 25 – The 3-year-old boy has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Update at 11:30 a.m. on April 22 – The 3-year-old boy is in critical condition in the Pediatric ICU at OU Children’s Hospital.
A Logan County three-year-old boy was rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital after he nearly drowned in a neighbor’s pond Monday afternoon.
At last report, the boy is in critical condition at OU Children’s Hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 4:52 p.m. stating that there was a possible drowning in the Highland Trails housing addition which is north of Waterloo near Kelley.
According to authorities, a babysitter was at the home with two children, ages three years and five months. They were all playing in the garage and driveway when the three-year-old boy went to play with some other neighborhood children beside the house.
The babysitter, along with a neighbor, searched for the boy when they found him in a neighborhood pond.
When the boy was pulled from the pond, the babysitter immediately began performing CPR.
Deputies are conducting an investigation of the incident.
