Logan County Floodplain Board seeks volunteers for positions

The Logan County Floodplain Board is seeking to fill two volunteer positions to help oversee and manage floodplain applications within the county. This is an excellent opportunity for community members to get involved in local governance and contribute to the safety and development of unincorporated areas of Logan County.

The Floodplain Board meets only a handful of times throughout the year, convening whenever an application is filed for building or work within the county’s floodplain. These meetings are crucial for ensuring that proposed projects comply with floodplain management regulations, safeguarding both property and natural resources.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Emergency Manager Steven Haga, who also serves as the Flood Plain Administrator, to obtain an application. Selected volunteers will need to complete some online self-paced training before officially joining the board. This training is designed to equip new members with the knowledge necessary to review floodplain applications effectively.

For more information or to apply, contact Haga at 405-282-0494.
