The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) has recognized Logan County Health Department as County Health Department of the Year.
On Tuesday, May 8, OSDH held its 13th Annual Employee Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony in its headquarters in Oklahoma City. Its purpose is to recognize the accomplishments of employees throughout the agency. Awards included categories for meritorious service, teamwork, and community service.
The County Health Department of the Year Award is presented to a county health department that has performed above and beyond agency standards.
The award was presented to Logan County Health Department by Martha Burger, President of the Oklahoma State Board of Health. In her presentation, Ms. Burger highlighted Logan County Health Department’s work in improving Logan County’s rates of adult smoking, obesity, and other important public health metrics.
Burger also acknowledged Logan County Health Department’s recent achievement of national accreditation certification through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
