Logan County Board of County Commissioners has initiated the first roof renovation of the county jail since its opening in 2007.
During a special board meeting on July 22, Logan County Commissioners opened 14 bids for the Logan County Jail roof renovation, with only one bid not qualifying.
The lowest bid, submitted by Trimac Construction Services of Shawnee, came in at $229,145 and was approved with a 3-0 vote by the commissioners.
This project marks the first roof renovation since the jail’s original construction, which cost $8.27 million and opened in 2007.
The renovation, expected to take 50 days, will be funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, with funds allocated by commissioners in March 2022.
