A number of master gardeners from the Logan County Master Gardeners program worked at the Veterans Memorial at Honor Park in downtown Guthrie.
Mary Miller, secretary for the program, noted, “The Master Gardeners are so pleased to be able to assist with spring clean up and plantings for this special place honoring veterans of Logan County. We are excited to work with the American Legion Post 58 in getting this memorial ready for summer and for Memorial Day just around the corner. Greg Price, Adjutant with Post 58 expressed great appreciation for the assistance provided by the Master Gardeners.
She continued, “We all want Honor Park to be a tribute to the veterans of Logan County and to make this a special place, reflecting the special women and men that it honors, the Logan County Master Gardeners certainly provide great support!”
Master Gardener Steve Gentling added, “We are so appreciative of the donations by Red Dirt Plants, TLC, Lowes and Wal-Mart that allows us to continue to maintain and enhance this memorial. It is clearly a team effort that provides this special tribute to our veterans. Thanks to all who make it happen.”
