GUTHRIE – Awards are given annually to the top 4-H members per age group who exhibit overall achievement in their project work. These awards were presented at the Logan County 4-H achievement banquet held at the fairgrounds this past August.
The Outstanding Beginner awards were sponsored by Logan County Farm Bureau and were presented to Daisi Ward, and Josephine Major, both from Mulhall-Orlando 4-H.
Daisi is active in projects like cattle grading, food showdown, sewing club, horse club, and many more. Daisi says 4-H has taught her not to be afraid to try new things.
Josephine does everything from fabrics and fashions, to cooking, to horses, to showing her heifers Peggy Sue and Sweet Eliza, and many things in between.
Outstanding Junior awards are sponsored by Eskridge Chevrolet, and were awarded to Lyndi Ward, and Kilee Dolch-Blehm, both of Mulhall-Orlando 4-H.
Lyndi does 4-H sewing, food preparation, service projects, cattle grading, and more. She has done many service projects including putting flags on veterans’ graves. 4-H means a lot to her, and she is excited for another year filled with fun.
Kilee has participated in sewing club, cattle grading, cooking club, foods, and many more activities. Kilee says 4-H has helped her become a better leader and she hopes to show others how 4-H can make a difference to them as well.
The Outstanding Senior award was sponsored by The Prairie Flower Boutique, and was presented to Audrey Allen from the South Logan County 4-H Club
Audrey’s main 4-H projects are Health & Fitness and Recreation & Leisure Arts. Allen saw a need in her community and started a service project called Clover Clothes Closet where she gathers long pants and other items to donate to Charter Oak Elementary. She also teaches a tie dye pillowcase workshop to kids and talks about mental health.
