The Logan County Partnership is starting the year with a number of activities. The Partnership will spend 2019 focusing on Positive Parenting Practices.
These are six practices that research shows help prevent developmental delays and social-emotional deficits in children. The six practices are:
· Reading Books
· Telling Stories and Singing
· Playing with Peers
· Going Out
· Family Meals
· Watching less television
The partnership will spend two months focused on each of these practices. In January and February, the focus will be on reading books with children. Partner agencies are planning a variety of activities around this theme. Mercy Hospital will be hosting a book drive. The Health Department will be giving away free books.
The Simple Life Center and Sooner SUCCESS will host reading to your child days on January 19, and February 16t. Read to child events will run from 10-12 at the Simple Life Center. Bring your child, and a favorite book and come enjoy some time together at the center.
