In a special meeting on Thursday morning, the Logan County Public Works Authority (PWA) agreed to sell a building to a local group, who brings families in for entertainment and activities.
Trustee’s Monty Piearcy, Marven Goodman and Mike Pearson voted unanimously to sell the building, which is known as the Cottonwood Clinic, located on 19th Street just to the north of Noble Ave.
The Simple Life Center, with financial supporters, purchased the clinic build, which also served as a dentist office, for $100,000 in cash and as is.
After closing costs, which is to be split evenly between the PWA and dentist Nathan Proud, the PWA will receive $57,787.16. Proud, who purchased part of the building for his office, will receive $35,267.84.
The PWA became the beneficiary of the building following the sale of Logan Medical Center in 2011 to Mercy Health System of Oklahoma.
Proud recently opened up a new office in downtown Guthrie at 113 E. Oklahoma Ave.
The Simple Life Center, founded by Linda Bryan, is where families can gather for innocent fun, good conversations, a relaxed atmosphere, adult mentors and simple games. To learn more about their organization click here for more.
