Update: Additional details have been released in the deaths of two people in a murder suicide case inside a Logan County home.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Mark Kimani had shot and killed himself. Meredith Kimani had multiple gunshot wounds and also died.
A third person in the home was not injured.
The 911 call was released and shed some light on what may have happened before the incident.
“Hi, yes, I need an officer out to my house to remove my husband out of here, please,” the 911 call said. Officials said it was Meredith who made that call.
Investigators continue to work the case and await additional information from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were found dead inside a residence in Logan County on Sunday evening.
Deputies were called to a reported disturbance in the 3800 block of N. Midwest Blvd. shortly after 6 p.m. following a phone call from inside the home. When deputies arrived, they were unable to gain entry into the residence.
Authorities then contacted a family member, who responded to the scene and allowed deputies into the home.
Once inside, deputies discovered two individuals who were confirmed deceased.
The sheriff’s office has not released the identities of the deceased or additional details as the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have not yet said what led to the disturbance or the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators believe the situation is contained to the residence.
