The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the return of its annual Angel Tree Program for the 2024 holiday season. Now in its sixth year, the program has successfully brought joy to local children in need and will kick off on November 7, 2024, with the setup of the tree and the addition of “Angel Cards.”
The Angel Tree Program invites community members to visit the Sheriff’s Office at 216 South Broad Street, Guthrie, and select an angel card from the tree. Each card will display the first name, gender, and age of a child, along with a wish list provided by the child’s parents. The list will include clothing sizes and other needed items to help brighten the holiday season for local kids.
Participants will fill out a card with their contact details and the angel card code before leaving to shop for the child. The unwrapped gifts should be returned to the Sheriff’s Office, where deputies will wrap them and deliver them to families across the county.
The Sheriff’s Office requests that all gifts be returned by December 6, to ensure timely wrapping and delivery.
Applications for the Angel Tree Program were distributed to Logan County school superintendents in September for parents in need. The Sheriff’s Office appreciates the support of local schools and churches that help make this initiative possible each year.
For families with children attending charter schools or needing assistance this holiday season, contact Lt. Kutay or the Records Department at the Sheriff’s Office to request an application.
