Mack’s 512 Academy growing and donating vegetables

Mack’s 512 Academy have announced their plans for a produce stand this spring and summer after they participated in the project “What Will You Bring to the Table?” sponsored by www.generationOn.org.

The academy won a grant and purchased two picnic tables thanks in part to the help of Master Gardener and Mayor Mark Spradlin.

After the vegetables are harvested, they will have what the students have named – 512 Family Fresh Produce Stand.
“We will be donating a portion of the food to local food pantry, God’s Food Bank. The rest will be sold at very, very low prices,” Assistant Director Cassandra Carney said.

Carney said the students will create and sell their own signature salsa with the veggies from the garden.

“We just want to get the word out about childhood hunger here in Logan County and hopefully others will become as passionate about it and join us in the fight,” Carney exclaimed.

  1. I always emailed this webpage post page to all my friends, because if like to read
it afterward my friends will too.

  2. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
