Madison Dutton had a special senior season as she helped guide the Lady Jays to the State tournament for the first time since 1998. On Friday, she signed her letter to play college softball.
Dutton signed with Connors State College in front of friends, teammates and family inside the Guthrie High School library.
“I want to thank everyone for coming and giving me your support. I’ve had a great four years,” Dutton told the gathered crowd after signing the proper documents.
CSC’s head coach Rick Carbone was in attendance as well as GHS coach Chase Langley.
Dutton was named to the High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (HSFSCA) All-State team, HSFSCA Region II All-Region team for the Large West and the All-District team.
Dutton, who will play second base in the all-state game, led the Lady Jays in batting this season with a .472 average. In her four-year career she batted .410, drilled 9 homeruns and 54 doubles, added 114 RBIs and scored 84 times.
