Man believed to be passed out found in stolen vehicle

A man was arrested in Logan County after deputies located a stolen vehicle and allegedly discovered drugs during a welfare check.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched before 9:30 a.m. on March 30 to the area of Summer Drive and Summer Oaks after receiving a report of a person passed out inside a white minivan parked in the roadway.

Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the driver, identified as Kristian Ketchum, 20, who was slow to respond and gave vague answers, according to the report.

While speaking with Ketchum, an Oklahoma City resident, deputies ran the vehicle’s identification number, which was confirmed as stolen by Warr Acres Police, according to a police report. Ketchum was then taken into custody on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

During an inventory of the vehicle, deputies reported finding a syringe containing a clear substance in the driver’s side door. The substance was later tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

Ketchum was transported to the Logan County Detention Center.

The Logan County District Attorney’s Office charged Ketchum with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine). The charge is a misdemeanor.

During his initial court appearance on April 2, Ketchum entered a not guilty plea to the drug charge. Bond was set at $2,500, and the case is scheduled to return to court on April 9 at 9 a.m.
