Have you been a victim of burglary recently? If so, the Guthrie Police Department may have what you are looking for.
For months now, police have investigated several burglary reports from local hotels near Interstate 35 and Highway 33.
Last week, an officer was called out to one of the hotels and located approximately $10,000 worth of stolen goods inside a room.
Police believe most of the goods were taken from vehicles parked at area hotels.
Richard Ray Butts, 36, of Guthrie, was arrested for possession of stolen property and burglary.
According to police, Butts was observed on video surveillance taking items from a vehicle on multiple occasions on Sept. 28.
Butts has a lengthy criminal record, including a guilty plea to grand larceny in March 2021.
He remains in the Logan County Jail awaiting formal charges.
If you have any information or were the victim of a theft in the area, you’re encouraged to contact the department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 405-282-3535.
